In celebration of Women’s Month and Mother’s Day, the EG-U.S. Exchange Alumni Council, in its fifth session, hosted a special event titled “Successful Women Role Models in Empowering Women”

The virtual event was held on Saturday, March 16, at 9:30 PM, featuring inspiring stories from three prominent women in the field of women’s empowerment: Maha Hassan, Reem Sayam, and Azza Saad Alywa.

About the Speakers:

1. Maha Hassan:

   Sustainability and sustainable finance officer in the banking sector. She is a graduate of the second cohort of the “Be an Ambassador” program facilitated by the Egyptian Ministry of Planning and one of the few Arab youth selected to be part of the Youth Advisory Group for providing consultations for UNESCO’s regional report on youth-led climate action in the Arab region.

2. Reem Sayam

   President of the Economic Council for Businesswomen at the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. She was the first Egyptian to be elected to the Board of the World Chambers Federation for the 2023-2025 term. She was also recognized as one of 16 success stories in economic empowerment for women at the 50^th anniversary of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

3. Azza Saad Alywa:

   Chairwoman of the Basma Association for Development and Improvement in Hawatka, Assiut. A graduate of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Young Leader Raise, she participated in implementing four initiatives from the Give It Back program and two projects funded by AEIF.
