It is easy to achieve success, but it is difficult to maintain it. Council of 2022- 2023, Thank you! You laid the foundation.
After the great success achieved by the council last year (2022-2023) and the outstanding activities that were carried out, the challenge for the new council is even greater. However, the presence of several distinctive members in the new council (2023-2024) encouraged me to continue the journey because I am confident that what the council will implement this year will be even more distinctive because of the council members' expertise and the cooperation between all of them.
The inauguration of the council was highly fruitful; we felt the appreciation from the embassy team, led by Robin Haroutunian, the Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, and Sara Awad, the Public Engagement Officer at the embassy, for our diligent efforts and their commitment to supporting the council and building an effective partnership and fruitful cooperation with us.
This year, the council aims to establish important organizational foundations for its work and develop many ideas that the previous council laid the groundwork for, such as regional clubs in Egyptian governorates, expanding activities there to reach alumni across Egypt, as well as adding cultural aspects to the conversation club to enhance international communication between all the alumni all over the world and benefit from their experiences.
This year, the council will introduce several new programs to enhance the skills of Egypt’s alumni and leverage their experiences through workshops in various fields, voluntary activities to serve the community, and the Alumni Speaker program, which aims to exchanging expertise in various fields. Additionally, the council will implement a Mentorship Program that will be held in Cairo and Alexandria and aims at training 50 mentors across the republic. Each mentor will train three individuals, resulting in 150 professional trainers within the Egyptian community. Furthermore, the council plans to launch the first website for the Egyptian alumni so that they can exchange experiences and maximize the benefits of the cultural and professional diversity of the Egyptian alumni.
Best wishes!
